Hidden Glen | 2D Concept

Done in Procreate for iPad, Adobe PS. What's better than a magical ruin, tucked away in a damp little cave? Well, a magical ruin with glowing mushrooms, of course! This piece was created for an open-ended final in a 2D-backgrounds course. My concept was that of an old, elemental magic existed within a fantasy world but lay dormant and forgotten by civilization. Over time, the influence of the magic had slowly crept into the surrounding flora, resulting in a bioluminescent display of nature overtaking an old world arcana.
